Choose Your Image Wisely

When customers visit your website, the first thing they’re drawn to is imagery, not text. On social media, posts get much more attention when they’re accompanied by interesting graphics. This is why it’s so important to choose the right images for your website, social networks, and other mass communications.

  1. Images should be professional. That doesn’t necessarily mean buttoned up – if you have a lifestyle website, for example, you certainly don’t want to use stuffy images. Images should always be high quality, though.
  2. Images should stay in-line with your brand. If you sell writing services and you often post photos of the writing process and your home office, don’t all of a sudden throw in shots of your dog or hanging out at a bar with friends. Social media marketing is social, yes, but it shouldn’t be off message.
  3. Instead of using stock images, hire a photographer to shoot for you. If you’re good at planning, you’ll know in advance what imagery you’ll need and you can send the photographer a shot list.
  4. Build a lifestyle around your brand using images. Let’s say you sell jewelry – you don’t only need shots of the jewelry, but also images of people wearing the jewelry and the lifestyle that your ideal customers lead.
  5. Avoid offensive images. One of the most important customer service tips to learn is to never offend your audience!
  6. Only use legal images. Don’t pull images off of other websites if you don’t have permission. When searching online, make sure to find “Creative Commons” images.

Whatever images you choose, make sure that you’re always appealing to the customer. Your business’ imagery is a public relations matter and your audience should always be your first priority.

Web Retargeting and What That Means To You

Web Retargeting and What That Means To You

Web retargeting ads are the new wave for companies when it comes to online shopping. That’s because by employing retargeting ads, businesses are able to reach roughly 98% of the users who browsed their websites but did not make any purchases. By using this tactic, companies are truly able to bring in more revenue than ever before, while avoiding nagging and annoying the customer at hand.

For those that have never heard of web retargeting ads before, this method is a way to increase online sales. That’s because it allows the company to stay at the front and center of a potential buyer’s mind while they’re simply window-shopping the Internet. By showing ads of a product long after the potential buyer got out of the business’ website, the individual is more likely to return to the site and make the purchase they were once contemplating.  I am sure you have noticed that once you visit a website for something that product is now following you across the web?  To many this is a little freaky but when you use it to your advantage, it can be very promising in bringing potential clients back to your website!

In fact, for most websites, about 2% of web traffic results in a purchase or some type of next step. Most of the people browsing websites are doing just that. They have no intent of buying any products or services from the site they’re looking at. However, with retargeting, companies are able to connect with the 98% of potential buyers who did not convert on the first time around. Similar to social media marketing, it’s a way of speaking directly to those who have proven to already be interested in what’s being sold.

Like social media, this is a tactic that is especially important for the real estate industry. That’s because with retargeting, the listings remain at the top of the brain, which is crucial for a field with so much competition. When the individual is looking for a real estate agent, they’ll come across the company’s website. Even if they don’t do anything but glance at the site, these listings and agent will continue to pop up if the individual does another similar web search in the coming days. The ad will even show before any of the competitors, which again is vital in this sort of industry. It’s this sort of persistence with retargeting that makes all the difference.

You, Your Webpage, and Design

If you want to work in real estate, you will need to put on a good marketing plan. While true, people can’t rely on old methods like bench advertisements and phone book placements. No, a real estate agent needs an Internet presence with a great website. With this in mind, here are three reasons why a great website will help you draw in more clients.

People expect it: First and foremost, if a potential buyer doesn’t find your site, he or she will grow a little frustrated. Think about it, people from all business areas now have websites, and you are at a severe disadvantage if you can’t provide this, now basic, service to your clients. Simply put, potential homebuyers will head to the next business if you don’t have even a basic website.

Marketing: With a decent webpage design, you can market to your potential clients with ease. When landing on your site, people will notice the great graphics, nice pictures and decent layout of a site. Then, when they check it out, they are likely to use you as a real estate agent.

Link to social media: Finally, if you have an online presence and want to see it succeed, you will need to have social media. Luckily, if you have a decent website, you can engage in social media marketing without much trouble. Since people love to share information, news and pictures, your site will help you rise to the top. Remember, this will only grow, and you must link back to your social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter, at minimum.

If you are a real estate agent, you need to compete with your well-funded competition. To do so, you will want an Internet presence, complete with a great website containing all the vital information about your services.
